Almond was born into an already curious and creative family. Her father was an expert toy maker and her mother made the best clocks around. Little did the parents know that their daughter was in fact a prodigy. Her mind worked like a sponge, absorbing every mechanic, joint, socket, and bauble that her parents came up with. In her early years, she had an almost obsessive desire to create. She never went outside unless a project called for it and never made friends unless it was to test a possibly dangerous invention. Needless to say she never kept friends long. But who needed friends when science and the betterment of all was on the line?!
By the time she was ten years old, her parents' work bored her, and she began creating her own oddities — with the help of books and ideas from the old masters, of course. At fourteen, she had created multiple practical machines: pulleys, levers, conveyer belts powered by wind and water. They all found their uses around the house, but it still wasn't enough.
The day she turned eighteen, Almond decided she could stand it no longer. She wanted to learn more and know more and create more. So she packed up and went on her way to the scientific hub of the world: London. When she got there, she expected a mecca of creative minds and ideas collaborating and working together to make the world a better place. What she got was white wigged men who preferred talking behind one another’s backs over actually inventing.
They tried to chew her up and spit her out. They did their best to shun and discourage and sabotage Almond in an attempt to send her packing. She was a woman! She was a child! How could anyone take her seriously?? But as time went on, she began to gain attention, and not the negative kind, either. Everyone began to realize… Her ideas were actually impressive! Her suggestions actually improved things! Why, she even managed to solve problems that even some of the most prestigious in London could not figure out.
Though she became the talk of the town, Almond never let it get in her head. She already knew she was better than all of these people! They were just stubborn, like her. But she never was one to get involved with the politics of science and creation. She just loved to work.
One day, however, she received a letter. She had been recognized by the Royal Court itself as someone who was indeed one of the best that London had to offer (obviously). Unfortunately for her, however, the letter also told her that she would need to pack up all of her things and move to the Caribbean. Why, there of all places? Sounded like there were plans for her. They want to make her an asset.
- CLOTHING OF CHOICE: Thicker leathery outfits. Usually pants in order to move around easier and gloves for protection. She likes teals and golds.
- ACCESSORIES:
-- Glasses - She is pretty blind without them.
-- Pencils - You never know when you will need to jot down an idea!
-- Gloves - Used mostly when she is working.
-- A copy of Isaac Newton's Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica, which is one of her many favorite books.

-- She is very snooty and sassy. Due to her intellect, she thinks of almost everyone as below her. It will take a lot for her to respect anyone.
-- Almond has a secret rivalry with a gentleman by the name of Krausse. She admires the intricacies of his projects, but will likely never admit it due to the intent of his work.
-- Is of Italian descent.
-- Some of her favorite inventions have been: a hat in which allowed you to look through one of its six different spyglasses, depending on which levers were pressed and her own version of the sextant measured angles as well as the movement of celestial bodies. She has even dabbled in chemicals in an attempt to make some form of usable energy. No luck yet, but she's on the verge of a breakthrough!!
